The 'Julian Assange' index: another evidence that Elizabeth Warren is establishment's last resort

 globinfo freexchange

We should be grateful to Julian Assange and WikiLeaks for uncovering the ruthless and ugly face of the establishment. For the exposure of the biggest war crimes by the US empire in the Iraq war. For the exposure of the dirty war by the DNC against Bernie Sanders, and many more.

But even now, being in this extremely hard situation because of the absolutely inhuman treatment by this imperialistic crypto-fascist regime, Assange remarkably becomes the cause that forces more masks to fall.

Therefore, the 'Julian Assange' index can even help us identify the real and the fake progressives.

As The Intercept reported:

The Justice Department filed 17 charges against WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange on Thursday, deploying the controversial Espionage Act as a cudgel against First Amendment protections and press freedom. It’s the first time the U.S. government has used the Espionage Act to prosecute a publisher, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

[...]

Let me be clear: it is a disturbing attack on the First Amendment for the Trump administration to decide who is or is not a reporter for the purposes of a criminal prosecution,” [Bernie] Sanders wrote in a tweet Friday afternoon after The Intercept contacted his office for comment. “Donald Trump must obey the Constitution, which protects the publication of news about our government.

[Elizabeth] Warren distanced herself from Assange but condemned the Justice Department’s move to curtail press freedom. “Assange is a bad actor who has harmed U.S. national security — and he should be held accountable,” Warren said in a statement. “But Trump should not be using this case as a pretext to wage war on the First Amendment and go after the free press who hold the powerful accountable everyday.

Essentially, Warren did not just "distanced herself" from Julian Assange. She made a totally unacceptable statement on him. And it is actually quite shocking because the phrase “Assange is a bad actor who has harmed U.S. national security — and he should be held accountable,” is something we should expect to come out from a neocon/neoliberal mouth, not from the mouth of a real progressive.

What's perhaps even more disturbing, is that Warren's whole statement fits perfectly the narrative propagated by the golden mouthpieces of the liberal media. They don't consider Assange a journalist, yet they condemn Trump's war on First Amendment only because they fear that he may go after them too.

As we wrote recently, the last option - and apparently more risky for the establishment - is Elizabeth Warren, who stands somewhere inside the 'Twilight Zone' between the real progressives and the corporate Democrats. We also wrote that Elizabeth Warren is considered to be closer to the establishment positions and therefore could be 'handled' easier.

Therefore, such statements by Warren justify the above estimations.

So, here is another evidence that Elizabeth Warren is establishment's last resort, in case that Kamala Harris, or Joe Biden will fail to stop the real progressives, like Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard.

Lizzy Warren isn't much different from the cretin she endorsed in 2016; she is only good for the showmanship of going after bankers on the banking committee; it makes for good sound bytes, but you'll notice things she has proposed aren't all that effective. Endorsing HRC was the last straw. Doing a DNA test minus a documented genealogy put my opinion of Lizzy in the minus zero category; family legends minus a documented genealogy do not a family history make (I've been doing genealogy research for 55 years and have both proved and disproved family legends and I know the limits of what can be determined with a DNA test; I know what I'm talking about).

I won't vote for Lizzy Warren.

Elizabeth Warren is a faux-gressive. She does not inhabit a "twilight zone" between real progressives and corporate democrats. She's in the tank with the Establishment and always has been. Her political activities are self-serving and her public & private positions are as disingenuous as her dear friend Hillary's. I won't be voting for her either.

Trump helps BlackRock buy Panama Canal ports, to weaken China & strengthen Wall Street

Israel Has Always ‘Depended on Genocide’ to Colonize Palestine

BreakThrough News   Rania Khalek and Eugene Puryear discuss Israel’s resumption of its genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza, launched just a day before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was set to face his corruption trial. Israel, backed by a green light from Trump, intensified the bombing of Gaza, began a ground invasion, and killed over 500 Palestinians within 48 hours while enforcing a total blockade of Gaza. Eugene states that Israel never wanted to go through with the ceasefire because “the Israeli project can’t succeed unless it totally ethnically cleanses the territories it claims– and kills anyone in the way.” Recognizing that they may “not get the chance again,” they are putting their foot on the accelerator.”

Το καθεστώς του χάους

Betar: the Far-Right Hate Group Helping Trump Deport Israel’s Critics

by Alan Macleod  Part 1 A far-right, pro-Israel group with a history of support for terror and genocide is working closely with the Trump administration, preparing dossiers on thousands of pro-Palestine figures it wants deported from the United States. Betar U.S. is known to have had several meetings with senior government officials and has claimed credit for the arrest and detention of Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of the nationwide anti-genocide student demonstrations that began at Columbia University last year. Ross Glick, the group’s executive director until last month, noted that he met with a diverse set of influential lawmakers, including Democratic senator John Fetterman and aides to the Republican senators Ted Cruz and James Lankford, and that all supported Betar U.S.’ campaign to rid the country of thousands of “terror supporters.” Shortly after Glick’s trip to Washington, D.C., Trump signed an executive order titled “Additional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism” that promises ...

Netanyahu commits 'a bloodbath in Gaza' to save himself

Middle East Eye   At least 400 people have been killed after a surprise Israeli attack on Gaza in the early hours of Tuesday. Israel’s government vows to continue escalating these military attacks, saying it’s in response to Hamas’ refusal to extend the ceasefire, which has been in place since January. But is this the real reason for this morning’s attack? Or is there a much more cynical explanation - one tied to the political fate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu?   The Big Picture Podcast speaks to Daniel Levy, the president of the US/Middle East Project and a former Israeli peace negotiator.

Professor at Center of Columbia University Deportation Scandal is Former Israeli Spy

The professor at the center of the Columbia University deportation scandal is a former Israeli intelligence official, MintPress News can reveal. Mahmoud Khalil, a recent graduate of the university’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), was abducted by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Saturday for his role in organizing protests last year against Israel’s attack on Gaza. Khalil’s dean, Dr. Keren Yarhi-Milo, head of the School of International and Public Affairs, is a former Israeli military intelligence officer and official at Israel’s Mission to the United Nations. Yarhi-Milo played a significant role in drumming up public concern about a supposed wave of intolerable anti-Semitism sweeping over the campus, thereby laying the groundwork for the extensive crackdown on civil liberties that has followed the protests.   by Alan Macleod   Part 2 - Unprecedented Protests, Unprecedented Repression Columbia was the epicenter of a massive protest movement across ...

Trump’s ISRAEL FIRST Flip-Flop On Attacking Yemen!

The Jimmy Dore Show   President Trump has taken decisive military action in Yemen, ordering airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthi rebels on March 15, 2025. This action represents a significant flip-flop from when, as a presidential candidate, Trump railed against the Biden administration for bombing the Houthis instead of talking to them. Jimmy Dore discusses the strikes, the largest U.S. military operation in the Middle East since Trump took office and which came after a period of relative quiet in the region.
