Mexico takes the second place in our blog-poll for the next potential CIA-designed coup in Latin America after Bolivia
Right after the coup in Bolivia the blog created a poll on Twitter, asking people which Latin America country they think it comes next.
Naturally, Venezuela came in the first place with half of the votes. Yet, it was a kind of a small surprise to see Mexico in the second place with 22%, after the end of the poll.
Initially, Nicaragua had a good chance to take the second place. Yet, it seems that the decision of Mexico to give asylum to Evo Morales, in order to protect him from the fascists, was decisive for the final result.
Mexico has now a Leftist government and gave asylum to a Leftist leader. Someone could argue that the country has now become a top-priority target for the US imperialists. However, its size and its proximity to the US, may eventually save it, for now. A far-right xenophobic government, like Trump's, would probably hesitate to risk a political unrest next to its borders, because it could boost the migrant flows that would seek to escape from a far-right, authoritarian regime.
Which other Latin America country could be the next target of the US imperialists? Write your opinion in the comments.
After Bolivia, where do you think the US will attempt another typical CIA-designed coup in Latin America?
