#HandsOffVenezuela: Brave Italians show us the path of resistance against the European branch of the neoliberal beast
According
to RT, Italy vetoed EU recognition of Venezuelan opposition leader
Guaido. As RT reported:
Rome
has effectively derailed an EU statement meant to recognize Juan
Guaido as Venezuela’s interim leader if President Nicolas Maduro
fails to set up snap elections, a Five Star Movement source
confirmed to RT.
Italy
announced the veto at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers
that started on January 31 in Romania, the source said. The
statement, which was supposed to be delivered by EU foreign
affairs chief Federica Mogherini recognized Guaido as interim
president if snap elections were not held.
The
European Parliament is the first European body to recognize Guaido
“as the only legitimate interim president of the country
until new free, transparent and credible presidential elections
can be called in order to restore democracy.”
The
parliament urged the EU to follow suit but the effort stalled due
to internal discord. A range of European nations have separately
recognized the opposition chief as Venezuela’s acting president,
including the UK, France, Sweden, Spain, and Austria. The
coordinated move came after an eight-day deadline for Maduro to
call presidential elections expired on Monday.

The new
government in Italy exhibited signs of resistance against the
Brussels bureaufascists’ imposed policies. The Brussels-Berlin axis
attempts to dictate brutal neoliberalism by force to member-states.
Recently,
the axis expressed its annoyance for the fact that the Greek
government decided to raise minimum wage. Although the Greek economy
was ruined by the real Troika of tyranny (IMF, ECB, European
Commission), Greece has now some - still very narrow - space to make
some decisions by its own, as the country is no longer in a program
imposed by the lenders.
Italy
refused to follow the insane budget discipline, sado-monetarism and
austerity that the axis demands from the member-states. All, of
course, in order to serve the model that favors Germany's surpluses
and big capital's hyper-profits.
Regarding
the situation in Venezuela, Washington's puppet Juan Guaido actually
launched an indirect threat against the Greek government as he
"expressed his concern ... about the Greek government's
stance regarding the dire political situation in his country."
Also,
“The Greek government initially expressed its hesitation to sign
the EU statement, but in the end, it agreed to sign. However,
Greece’s ruling SYRIZA party issued its own statement, noting that
it supports ‘the legitimate President of Venezuela, Nicolas
Maduro.’”
This is
a small sample of the enormous pressure exercised, especially on
small EU countries, to align with Washington's agenda.
On the
other hand, Italy has chosen the path of resistance on this issue too
by trying to boycot EU’s decision to recognize Juan Guaido as
Venezuela’s interim leader. It is expected that Italy will receive
double pressure from the imperialist empire and the Brussels-Berlin
axis with all kinds of blackmails.
In any
case, it is more than obvious that the neoliberal beast is losing the
ability of imposing iron discipline to its colonies and therefore, it
becomes more aggressive and dangerous than ever.
I saw a comment on a puppet state. I agree, the USA has so much influence on just about every country in the world. So, all just have to accept, in some way, they will be a puppet state. I'm Canadian, and my useless prime minister only talks tough when hes not direvtly in front of another leader . Hes a joke. So, we are a puppet state. All are this
