Confirmed: Alex Jones' popularity rises after Infowars banning from social media

We wouldn't expect to be confirmed so fast on this.

A few days ago in the article IT and social media supergiants have just made Alex Jones a hero in the eyes of the ultra-conservative audience, we wrote that Alex Jones' wet dream has just become reality thanks to the combined move by Facebook, Apple, YouTube and Spotify to ban Infowars. These private IT and social media companies couldn't give a better gift to him right now. At a time where Infowars was going through a saturated period according to the best scenario, the corporate giants actually saved it with that stupid(?) strategy.

Suddenly, a corporate branch of the liberal establishment gave real value to Alex Jones' awful performance, pretending to be the 'anti-establishment' hero - just like Donald Trump - and made him a real hero in the eyes of the ultra-conservative audience that has been brainwashed by his absurd conspiracy theories.

Only a couple of days later, Kyle Kulinski of the Secular Talk reports that Infowars app surges in popularity on Apple, Google Play stores.

Jimmy Dore also reported that Infowars became fourth-most popular Apple news app in US after crackdown from tech companies.

In fact, Ron Placone and Jimmy Dore immediately warned about such a development right after Infowars banning. What is left now is to see whether our second (much worse) prediction could become reality too.

In our article we also wrote that this was just a small rehearsal of what is about to come next. We are going to see a broader Orwellian hard censorship by the liberal establishment apparatus against what is considered the real enemy of the corporate America: the rise of the progressive movement.

This type of censorship - combined with other actions like the killing of Net Neutrality - will become a key weapon in the arsenal of the liberal establishment to shutdown the process through which the progressive momentum threatens to take over the Democratic party.

The real target is the progressive movement and the related independent media. The liberal establishment is free now to put all its power on their elimination. So, we are about to see more propaganda campaigns and censorship towards 2020 presidential election.

Many progressives - Ron Placone, Jimmy Dore and Kyle Kulinski among them - have also warned about the probability of such a Dystopian development, quite soon.

In this case, Infowars banning will be used as a blueprint by the establishment machine to shutdown progressive independent media and voices, based on that 'fake news' narrative. This is another indication that the liberal establishment and the far-right are actually work together because they have a common fear: that socialist policies may become one day reality for the benefit of the majority of Americans, and against the interests of the plutocracy they serve.

  1. Wouldn't you consider Alex Jones "far right"?

I think if anything, the "progressives" will find an ally in the far right if censorship expands to the far left.

While I'm sure some on the right will initially smile at any left wing censorship, one of the pillars of conservatives at all levels in the limitation of government interference, especially concerning the removal of core liberties like free speech.

As much as the right hates socialist ideas, they hate the inability to freely express one's ideas even more.

    1. The far-right (even historically) was always the dog of the establishment. When the real left rises, the establishment releases its dog.

Vijay Prashad on BRICS & Why Global South Cooperation Is Key to Dismantling Unjust World Order

Democracy Now!   As a two-day BRICS summit gets underway in South Africa, we speak with author and analyst Vijay Prashad about whether the bloc — which comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — can meaningfully challenge U.S. and Western domination in world affairs by building an alternative forum for countries of the Global South. BRICS countries represent 40% of the world's population and a quarter of the world's economy, and the group is now considering a possible expansion to more than 20 other countries. " BRICS is an instrument to push forward their political views, which they feel are not taken seriously, " says Prashad, director of the Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research. Prashad explains the history of BRICS and its New Development Bank and responds to criticism that BRICS falsely portrays itself as an anti-imperialist project. The BRICS countries " are not a socialist bloc, " says Prashad, but they " don't want to

Julian Assange and the end of American Democracy

The Real News Network   The US government has hounded Julian Assange since WikiLeaks first revealed the extent of US war crimes in 2010. In the process of persecuting Assange, the federal government has used every tool at its disposal and even pushed beyond the boundaries that supposedly restrict state power in defense of civil liberties. One of the most insidious tactics is the use of the Espionage Act, which had not been used for against whistleblowers and journalists for almost a century before Assange's case.    Prison is always a political tool, and in the case of whistleblowers like Julian Assange, the use of incarceration to suppress, discourage, and silence dissent is self-evident. Since being imprisoned, Assange has married and even started a family—but has been kept apart from his wife and children.   Lawyer and human rights defender Stella Assange, spouse of Julian Assange, joins Chris Hedges for a look at the vast and vicious campaign by the US to silence Julian Assange
