Forty bodies have been found washed up on Libya’s
Mediterranean shore, AP cited the country’s Red Crescent as saying.
Thirteen of the victims were discovered near the capital
of Tripoli and the nearby town of Khoms. Twenty-seven others were
found east of Tripoli in the town of Zliten, according to Red
Crescent spokesman Mohamed Masrati.
He added that the migrants had been trying to escape
from sub-Saharan African countries. Local authorities are still
looking for another 30 migrants who are believed to have been on the
capsized boat.
