US embassy caught scrubbing tweets urging Venezuelans not to vote

It is not clear why the embassy decided to go back and delete its posting history, especially as undermining Venezuela’s elections continues to be the official line of the US government.   by Alan Macleod   The United States embassy for Venezuela has been caught deleting tweets undermining the integrity of the December 6 National Assembly elections in the country and calling on Venezuelans not to participate in them. “ Tomorrow in Venezuela there will be no elections but rather a fraud carried out by the illegitimate Maduro regime. The world is watching. And Venezuelans are organizing to report it. Are you ready to defend democracy? I don’t vote on December 6, ” one tweet read, linking to a website purporting to track election irregularities. The concept of “defending democracy” has been one commonly employed by the opposition during their many coup attempts on the government, dating back to 2002. The deletion was spotted by Adrienne Pine, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the Ame

WikiLeaks paper reveals attempt by US Big Pharma cartel to take over France's health industry in a neocolonial style under Sarkozy presidency

The WIKILEAKS Public Library of US Diplomacy (PlusD) holds the world's largest searchable collection of United States confidential, or formerly confidential, diplomatic communications. As of April 8, 2013 it holds 2 million records comprising approximately 1 billion words. The collection covers US involvements in, and diplomatic or intelligence reporting on, every country on earth. It is the single most significant body of geopolitical material ever published. The PlusD collection, built and curated by WikiLeaks, is updated from a variety of sources, including leaks, documents released under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and documents released by the US State Department systematic declassification review.      globinfo freexchange   A late 2009 cable from the US embassy in Paris - France, reveals an attempt by a US Big Pharma cartel to take full control of the French health industry.    It appears that AGIPHARM was pushing for total neoliberalization of the sec

History of US imperialism in Latin America: From settler colonialism to Pink Tide

Moderate Rebels   Ben Norton was invited to give this talk on US imperialism in Latin America, for the Workers' Party of Ireland. He discusses the history from European settler colonialism, through the Monroe Doctrine, the first cold war, and the three great socialist revolutions, to the 21st-century resurgence of the Left in the Pink Tide.

US Congress and corporate media deploy massive lie, claiming Venezuela’s gov’t threatened to starve non-voters

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US corporate media declared Venezuela’s legislative elections a “sham” before results were even announced, opening a new front in the propaganda war on the besieged country and its leftist government.   Among the most blatant distortions deployed against President Nicolas Maduro’s United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) was a claim first advanced by Leopoldo López, the far-right, US-backed opposition leader who recently fled to Spain.  On Twitter, López tweeted a deceptively edited clip of Constituent Assembly President Diosdado Cabello addressing an election rally, and accused Cabello of “ blackmailing the hungry people with food to force them ” to vote for his governing party. López’s assertion was propagated by the Wall Street Journal ’s Ryan Dube, who claimed in an article about Venezuela’s “ sham ” election that Cabello “ threatened to withhold food handouts in a country where millions are going hungry. ” A bipartisan US congressional letter c

Germany: Hundreds rally for Assange's release in Stuttgart

Ruptly   Around 500 people rallied in Stuttgart to demand Julian Assange's release on Sunday, at an event organised on the day the WikiLeaks co-founder was set to receive the 2020 Stuttgart Peace Prize. Assange's partner Stella Morris appeared at the event via video-conference, while a politician from the Left Party, as well as a spokesperson from the non-governmental organisation behind the award, 'The Instigators,' also addressed the crowd. " One can see very clearly in these court proceedings, as it takes place, that it is a political persecution and the whole proceedings are a farce, " said Left Party parliamentarian Heike Hansel. Hansel also complained about the German government's silence on Assange's case, which she attacked as an " extraterritorial persecution of the US judiciary on European soil. " Assange was awarded the prize in July, with the award ceremony set to take place at an event on December, 6, but this has now been postpo

Successful not-for-profit Oxford COVID vaccine threatens Big Pharma profit logic

“The Oxford vaccine is… striking, since the point was to pay researchers, but not to rely on patent monopolies to generate large profits.” – Economist Dean Baker   by Alan Macleod   Part 4 - An inglorious history   Many will be relieved that an alternative offering to the ones on offer from Pfizer and Moderna has been green-lighted, although suspicion of vaccines remains high, with only 58% of Americans stating that they would be willing to receive a free, FDA-approved shot when the time comes. This, despite the fact that well over 12.5 million Americans have already tested positive for COVID-19, and over 262,000 deaths have been recorded. Part of the problem is doubtless due to companies like Pfizer’s inglorious history.   In 2011, for example, the company finally agreed to pay compensation to families of 11 Nigerian children who were killed in a meningitis trial where the pharmaceutical giant did not gain their parents’ consent to use experimental drugs on them.    Two years later,

Labour ‘anti-Semitism’ report exposes real ‘political interference’

Jonathan Cook dissects the investigation by the Equalities and Human Rights Commission into the U.K. Labour Party.  by Jonathan Cook Part 7 - Raw Emotions The first was posted on Facebook, though strangely the commission appears not to know when:                              Had Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party pulled up the drawbridge and nipped the bogus AS [anti-Semitism] accusations in the bud in the first place we would not be where we are now and the fifth column in the LP [Labour Party] would not have managed to get such a foothold … the Lobby has miscalculated … The witch hunt has created brand new fightback networks … The Lobby will then melt back into its own cesspit. The strong language doubtless reflects the raw emotions the anti-Semitism claims against Corbyn’s supporters provoked. Many members understood only too well that the Labour Party was riven by a civil war and that their socialist project was at stake. But where exactly is the anti-Semitism in Bromley’s tirade?

Biden accidentally reveals the plan: be replaced by Kamala Harris

globinfo freexchange   Since already 2019, we identified Kamala Harris as one of the establishment's most beloved puppets. As we wrote , it appears that Kamala Harris is establishment's most preferable candidate because she has all the characteristics that could revive identity politics and drive the electorate away from the substance of politics and towards the neoliberal center.    A year later, an accidental[?] Politico "leak" revealed that Harris had the best chances to become the next VP in a potential Biden administration.  We wrote then that as the establishment players who pull the strings know very well Biden's profound weaknesses, they want to make sure that he will be replaced by their best puppet in case he will become unable to fulfill duties . It seems that the puppet is called Kamala Harris. And in fact, it seems that the establishment players are eager to replace Biden with their top female Obama, in the end. It remains to be seen whether she

Roger Waters: powers that be are hoping Julian Assange dies in prison
