George Soros tried to get rid of Yanis Varoufakis because the neoliberal regime could not handle Greece and Ukraine simultaneously
In a
recent interview at the Greek channel, Crete TV, the former Greek
Minister of Finance, Yanis Varoufakis, made some interesting
revelations. Among other things, he actually confirmed what the blog
thought until now to be an exaggerated far-right conspiracy theory.
He essentially confirmed that George Soros intervenes directly to
political leaderships, substituting political institutions in Europe
and elsewhere.
Varoufakis
said that, on June, 2015, George Soros tried to contact Alexis
Tsipras via his own ‘channels’. In the interview, Varoufakis
claims that he had no idea what Soros wanted to talk about.
As
Varoufakis also writes in his book Adults in the Room: My Battle
with Europe's Deep Establishment, for years he has been falsely
portrayed by the pro-troika establishment and the anti-Semitic Right
as Soros’s stooge in Greece.
Yet,
Soros’s message to the Greek prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, came
as a perverse vindication. ‘Fire Varoufakis! Europe cannot
afford to have two open wounds at once – Greece and the Ukraine
[where fierce fighting was taking place]. Athens must capitulate to
Germany now so that Europe can dedicate itself to resolving Ukraine.
For this Varoufakis must be removed.’
Months
later - Varoufakis writes - a further, bitter vindication arrived
when the EU and the IMF announced that the same debt swaps and
nominal income indexed bonds that he had been proposing for Greece
would be used to restructure Ukraine’s public debt.
It the
interview, Varoufakis clarifies that this was not the reason that he
left SYRIZA and the government. Indeed, Varoufakis left after Alexis
Tsipras fully retreated to the creditors demands, despite that the 5
July 2015 referendum in Greece overwhelmingly showed that the Greek
people didn't approve the bailout conditions.
Quite
interesting conclusions could be derived from this revelation.
First,
that the overlords of the global neoliberal regime, like George
Soros, do not hesitate to wipe out - from every power position -
even internationalist Leftist moderates, like Yanis Varoufakis. So,
anyone who stands against the agenda of the global big capital must
be politically eliminated.
Second,
Soros' words consist a perfect verification of what we analyzed in
the article The
ruthless neo-colonialists of 21st century.
As
we wrote back then, the
start of current decade revealed the most ruthless face of a global
neo-colonialism. From Syria and Libya to Europe and Latin America,
the old colonial powers of the West tried to rebound against an
oncoming rival bloc led by Russia and China, which starts to threaten
their global domination. Inside a multi-polar, complex terrain of
geopolitical games, the big players start to abandon the
old-fashioned, inefficient direct wars. They use today other, various
methods like brutal proxy wars, economic wars, financial and
constitutional coups, provocative operations, 'color revolutions',
etc. In this highly complex and unstable situation, when even
traditional allies turn against each other as the global balances
change rapidly, the forces unleashed are absolutely destructive.
Inevitably, the results are more than evident.
Third,
exactly because the global balances are extremely sensitive and the
developments more rapid and unpredictable than ever, the global
neoliberal regime has limited power in opening many fronts
simultaneously. Soros indeed admitted this fact by saying that
‘Europe cannot afford to have two open wounds at once.’
And in
the end, look what happened. Even when small Greece surrendered to
the ruthless neoliberal priesthood, the tidal forces were so strong
that contributed significantly to Brexit and other Union-dissolving
sequence of events.
Inside
this mess, in order to maintain its power, the international
plutocracy turns now to its last resort: the far-right and the
fascists.
