Retired US army colonel implies that a war with Iran could start with a Vietnam-type false flag operation

globinfo freexchange After Tucker Carlson brought additional embarrassment to the pseudo-Left warmongering liberals with his anti-war positions, he tried to make Trump appear, more or less, as a kind of peace defender. He was joined by Douglas Macgregor, a retired US Army Colonel. Both Carlson and Macgregor attempted to blame Trump's warmongering officials and the war lobby for the fact that another devastating war, this time with Iran, becomes more and more possible. The truth is slightly different because Trump has enormous responsibilities for this development too. He was from the start very hostile against Iran, he did everything in his power to kill the Iran nuclear deal and put the most bloodthirsty, anti-Iran neocons in key positions. Yet, it would be worth to focus on a peculiar statement by Macgregor at the end of this short interview. As he said:            You and I know that there are lot of people who would welcome conflict with Iran, that's obvio

US preparing for regime change and war against Iran

by Peter Symonds Just days after President Donald Trump publicly threatened Iran with “ consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered, ” his National Security Adviser John Bolton held a top-level meeting to discuss US plans to confront Iran. Notorious for his own belligerent threats against Iran, Bolton chairs the Principals Committee on national security matters, whose members include Defence Secretary Jim Mattis and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Officials told the Wall Street Journal it was only the third such meeting Bolton had convened since his installation as national security adviser in April. In May, the Trump administration effectively sabotaged the 2015 deal with Iran, under which Tehran severely restricted its nuclear programs and placed its nuclear facilities under intense international scrutiny in exchange for the winding back of crippling economic sanctions. US sanctions will be re-imposed next month on Iran’s auto in

US ready to strike Iran in August

According to ABC, the US is going to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities. An operation may start as early as next month. The UK and Australia will participate in intelligence efforts, such as identifying targets. The US-Iran relationship took a nosedive after Iran threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz in early July. President Trump told the Iranian leadership in a tweet that he would respond with force if Tehran’s hostile anti-US rhetoric did not stop. The closure of the strait will inflict significant economic damage on US allies but benefit American shale oil and gas producers with prices abruptly going up. About 20 percent of the world's oil supply goes through the Hormuz Strait. Half of its imports originate in the Persian Gulf. The blockade of the strait would deliver a crushing blow against China to make it slide into economic recession. The ABC report may be true. It won’t be the first time. The US was behind the 1953 coup when Prime Minister

Poll: Americans don't care about Russia

Slavoj Žižek: Democratic Left, not liberal establishment, can defeat Trump

Part 3 - Too kind Indeed, the way he acted at a press conference with Putin in Helsinki was not only supposedly an unheard-of humiliation (just think of it – he didn't behave as Putin's master!), and some of his statements could even be considered outright acts of treason, we heard. Rumours reappeared of how Trump acts as Putin's puppet because his Russian counterpart must have some hold over him (the infamous alleged photos of prostitutes urinating in Moscow?), and parts of the US establishment. Democrats and some Republicans, began to consider a quick impeachment, even if we get Mike Pence as his replacement. Overall, the conclusion was simply that the President of the US is no longer the leader of the free world: but was the President of the US really ever such a leader? Here our counter-attack should begin. Let us first note that the overall confusion of Trump's statements contains some truths here and there: wasn't he in some sense right when

Corporate media begin typical operations to make progressives comply with the establishment

The operations will multiply and become more aggressive towards 2020 globinfo freexchange Corporate media of the ultra-conservative side made already a ridiculous attempt to present Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as totally unreliable. In the video, TYT hosts analyze very well the specific strategy followed by Conservative Review TV . The strategy is quite simple: you create a fake video, you upload it on social media and after being watched by thousands you admit that it was created for satire purposes. Yet, the propaganda will be definitely effective because only a small portion will notice that this was satire. Most of the viewers (especially from the conservative audience that has been heavily brainwashed for decades to love corporate America and believe whatever comes from the Fox apparatus) will believe whatever transmitted from the ultra-conservative propaganda machine. But the corporate media of the liberal side have a very big problem right now. It is almost impos

Lula: 'Temer government a threat to Brazil's national security'

“ I will fight with all of my energy, until the end of my days," said the former Brazilian President. As presidential candidates hit the campaign trail leading up to the October general elections, former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva keeps writing from his prison cell in the federal police headquarters in Curitiba, Parana. His latest piece is a scathing overview of the Senate-imposed presidency of Michel Temer, “ born through a parliamentary coup ” and a “ growing threat to national sovereignty. ” He explained that the “ political and economic forces that sustain him (Temer) are linked to foreign interests, ” a reality which has “ shredded the Constitution and democracy to implement an agenda that squanders Brazil's wealth, disaggregates the State and interrupts Latin-American integration. ” Lula noted that it has been habitual throughout Brazilian history that a significant part of the elite class “ aligned themselves ” with fo

Correa: 'Assange's days in Ecuadorian embassy are numbered'

Former Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa said president Lenin Moreno " has an agreement with the United States on what will happen to Assange." Ecuador's former president Rafael Correa said in an interview with RT Saturday that Julian Assange’s days in the Ecuadorean embassy in London are numbered, a claim which contradicts the statements made by Lenin Moreno Friday. “ You can be certain that this man, who is an absolute hypocrite, already has an agreement with the US about what will happen to Assange. And now he's just trying to sweeten the pill by saying he's going to have a dialogue… I fear, I fear, and I have said months ago, that Assange’s days in the embassy are numbered, ” Correa affirmed. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been living in the Ecuadorean embassy in London since 2012. He was granted asylum by former president Correa to help Assange avoid extradition to the United States, where he could face the death penalt

Israel detains Italian graffiti artists over Palestinian hero girl mural

Israeli forces have detained two Italian graffiti artists who were working on a mural of a jailed Palestinian teenager Ahed Tamimi. According to Palestinian officials on Saturday, the two Italian artists and a Palestinian who was accompanying them were detained while they were working on a painting on the controversial Israeli separation barrier in Bethlehem in the West Bank. Tamimi was sent to prison for assault after a film of her kicking and slapping an Israeli soldier in the West Bank went viral on December 15 last year. The confrontation reportedly erupted after Israeli forces shot Tamimi’s cousin in the face with rubber bullet earlier that day leading to her anger. Faced with embarrassment as that video went viral, Israelis decided to arrest the courageous teenager. They took her into custody on December 19. According to some accounts, 20 Israeli army Jeeps arrived at Ahed's house before dawn to arrest her. Thirteen days later, she was c

Russia is dumping its US bonds for gold, but where is it storing its bullion?

Russia's gold reserves rose to 1,944 tons as of June 2018, up from less than 500 tons just a decade ago. The holdings, amounting to over 17 percent of Russia's total foreign reserves, were shored up in part by offloading some $77 billion worth worth of its US Treasury bills, bonds and notes over the last six months or so. In recent years, the central banks of a number of countries have rejected the long-accepted practice of keeping their gold abroad. Most recently, the Turkish Central Bank began withdrawing its gold from the US Federal Reserve and shipping it back to Ankara at an accelerated pace. Before that, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Venezuela made similar moves, repatriating all or part of their physical gold reserves from New York or other Western Central Banks. Hungary and Belgium have also mulled bringing their gold home for safekeeping. Gold repatriation operations have not been without their difficulties. In 2013, when Germany bega

Psychological Operations (United States)

Psychological operations (PSYOP) are planned operations to convey selected information and indicators to audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of governments, organizations, groups, and individuals. The purpose of United States psychological operations is to induce or reinforce behavior favorable to U.S. objectives. They are an important part of the range of diplomatic, informational, military and economic activities available to the U.S. They can be utilized during both peacetime and conflict. There are three main types: strategic, operational and tactical. Strategic PSYOP include informational activities conducted by the U.S. government agencies outside of the military arena, though many utilize Department of Defense (DOD) assets. Operational PSYOP are conducted across the range of military operations, including during peacetime, in a defined operational area to promote the effect

US suddenly buys more Ecuadorian oil: is Trump also buying Assange’s arrest?

Over the last two weeks, the U.S. has imported a record amount of Ecuadorian oil, leading to speculation that a deal or pay-off may have been made to ensure Moreno’s cooperation with Washington’s long-standing efforts to have Assange arrested and extradited. by Whitney Webb Speaking in Madrid on Friday, Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno told an audience that WikiLeaks founder and editor-in-chief Julian Assange would need to leave Ecuador’s London embassy “eventually.” Moreno offered no time-table for Assange’s possible exit, which several sources just last week asserted could take place within “weeks” or even “days.” Assange has spent over six years in the embassy after being granted political asylum by Ecuador in 2012. However, Moreno asserted that Assange’s “ departure [from the embassy] should come about through dialogue. ” He went on to state that “ for a person to stay confined like that for so long is tantamount to a human rights violation ” and a

Clinton Democrats embrace losing strategy to combat ‘Sanders-style Socialism’ in midterms

Democratic Party elites are increasingly concerned the midterm elections will be a “base election” and make their centrist politics even more irrelevant, as insurgent candidates like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez garner widespread support. The think tank, Third Way, recently held a conference in Ohio with Democrats, who primarily adhere to the politics of President Bill Clinton, and new recruits, who they hope will counter “Bernie Sanders-style socialism.” They also intend to defend corporate executives and wealthy people from condemnation for their attacks on poor and working class Americans. “ Right now, in the Democratic Party, there is only one option on the table: Sanders-style socialism. That’s the main option on the table. We’re doing this now because the party’s got to have a choice, ” Jon Cowan, one of the presidents of Third Way, declared. “ It’s going to matter a hell of a lot in 2020, and so while 2020 may feel a ways off, in our mind it isn’t. And the
