Ο Μακάρθι επιστρέφει στην Αμερική

Η εκστρατεία που ξεκίνησε με πρόσχημα τη Ρωσία και την παρέμβασή της στις προεδρικές εκλογές του περασμένου Νοεμβρίου στοχεύει πλέον στην καρδιά της ελεύθερης διακίνησης πληροφοριών και ιδεών στο διαδίκτυο. Οι Δημοκρατικοί είναι αυτοί που πρωταγωνιστούν, έχοντας να λύσουν και τα δικά τους εσωτερικά θέματα, ενώ ο Τραμπ ακολουθεί ενθουσιωδώς, παρότι θεωρητικά βρίσκεται στο στόχαστρο.

Στο μεγαλύτερο κυνήγι μαγισσών από την εποχή του Μακάρθι επιδίδονται τις τελευταίες εβδομάδες Αμερικανοί γερουσιαστές, κολοσσοί των μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, αλλά και διωκτικές αρχές, όπως το FBI, με πρόσχημα την υποτιθέμενη παρέμβαση της ρωσικής κυβέρνησης στις προεδρικές εκλογές.

Η πρόσφατη ακρόαση που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Κογκρέσο για το θέμα αποτελεί ένα ποιοτικό άλμα προς τον σκοταδισμό, καθώς στο επίκεντρο δεν βρίσκονται πλέον μόνο οι Ρώσοι χάκερ, που υποτίθεται ότι στήριξαν την εκλογή Τραμπ, αλλά κάθε δημοσιογράφος και μέσο ενημέρωσης που προωθεί «εξτρεμιστικό περιεχόμενο». Με τον συγκεκριμένο όρο περιγράφονται ρεπορτάζ και μηνύματα που κυκλοφόρησαν στο Διαδίκτυο τα οποία θα μπορούσαν να προκαλέσουν «κοινωνικό διχασμό», όπως αναφορές στις δολοφονίες μαύρων από την αστυνομία και η περιγραφή των κοινωνικών ανισοτήτων στο εσωτερικό των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών.

Ο ρεπουμπλικάνος γερουσιαστής Τσακ Γκράσλεϊ έφτασε να ισχυριστεί ότι η Ρωσία βρισκόταν πίσω από τις διαδηλώσεις εναντίον της αστυνομικής βαναυσότητας, που πραγματοποιήθηκαν στο Φέργκιουσον, τη Βαλτιμόρη και το Κλίβελαντ. Το πρόβλημα, δηλαδή, δεν είναι ότι η αστυνομία στις ΗΠΑ πυροβόλησε και σκότωσε τουλάχιστον 1.000 ανθρώπους τον περασμένο χρόνο–στη συντριπτική πλειονότητα από περιθωριοποιημένες και φτωχές κοινότητες μαύρων και λατίνων– αλλά ότι κάποιοι αναφέρθηκαν σε αυτό το γεγονός!

Συνοψίζοντας το πνεύμα της διαδικασίας στο Κογκρέσο, ο δημοκρατικός γερουσιαστής Άνταμ Σκίφ ανέφερε ότι η Ρωσία προωθεί στις ΗΠΑ «διχαστικά θέματα που πυροδοτούν αντιδράσεις και οργή» και με αυτό τον τρόπο «οδηγεί Αμερικανούς πολίτες να προχωρούν σε πράξεις όπως η συγκέντρωση υπογραφών και η συμμετοχή σε διαδηλώσεις».

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι η κινητήρια δύναμη του νέου μακαρθισμού δεν είναι η κυβέρνηση Τραμπ (η οποία, φυσικά, ακολουθεί με ενθουσιασμό) αλλά η αντιπολίτευση των «φιλελεύθερων» Δημοκρατικών. Στην πρώτη γραμμή βρίσκονται οι ναυαρχίδες του αμερικανικού φιλελευθερισμού, όπως η εφημερίδα New York Times, αλλά και οι μεγαλύτερες εταιρείες στο χώρο του διαδικτύου. Πρόσφατα, άλλωστε, το Twitter ανακοίνωσε ότι δεν θα δέχεται πλέον διαφημίσεις ρωσικών μέσων ενημέρωσης, όπως το Russia Today, ενώ ο ιδρυτής του Facebook, Μάρκ Ζούκερμπεγκ, ξεκαθάρισε ότι θέτει την εταιρεία του στη διάθεση των αμερικανικών διωκτικών αρχών για τον εντοπισμό των ρωσικών «παρεμβάσεων». Από την πλευρά της, η Google έχει ήδη κατηγορηθεί ότι με πρόσχημα την εξάλειψη των λεγόμενων ψευδών ειδήσεων (fake news) προώθησε αλλαγές στον αλγόριθμο αναζήτησης, οι οποίες αποκλείουν αριστερά μέσα ενημέρωσης και δημοσιογράφους.

Η εκστρατεία που ξεκίνησε με πρόσχημα τη Ρωσία στοχεύει πλέον στην καρδιά της ελεύθερης διακίνησης πληροφοριών και ιδεών στο διαδίκτυο. Δημοκρατικοί γερουσιαστές έφτασαν να δηλώσουν ότι τα μεγάλα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης θα πρέπει να παρέμβουν στον αλγόριθμό τους ώστε να μην εμφανίζονται στην κορυφή θέματα «που μπορούν να προκαλέσουν οργή». Πίσω από τις υστερικές αντιδράσεις του αμερικανικού πολιτικού κατεστημένου κρύβεται ο φόβος για άρθρα και σχόλια κοινωνικής κριτικής που γίνονται, όπως λέμε, viral στο ίντερνετ, δηλαδή αναμεταδίδονται με ταχύτητα αστραπής στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης.

Συνηθισμένοι εδώ και σχεδόν έναν αιώνα στον απόλυτο έλεγχο της ροής πληροφοριών μέσω των κυρίαρχων μέσων ενημέρωσης, οι οικονομικές και πολιτικές ελίτ των ΗΠΑ επιχειρούν τώρα να επιβάλλουν την ίδια κυριαρχία και στο Ιντερνετ. Φυσικά, βρίσκουν συμπαραστάτες στις αμερικανικές εταιρείες που ασκούν μονοπωλιακό έλεγχο τόσο στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης (Twitter, Facebook) όσο και στην αναζήτηση περιεχομένου (Google). Ήδη και οι τρείς εταιρείες ανακοίνωσαν ότι προσλαμβάνουν χιλιάδες υπαλλήλους οι οποίοι θα παρακολουθούν τη ροή μηνυμάτων και θα παρεμβαίνουν όποτε κριθεί απαραίτητο. H εταιρεία Amazon, μάλιστα, μας έδωσε πριν από μερικές εβδομάδες μια πρόγευση αυτών των παρεμβάσεων, όταν υπάλληλοί της έσβησαν όλα τα επικριτικά σχόλια που υπήρχαν στις σελίδες της για το νέο βιβλίο της Χίλαρι Κλίντον.

Αν και η φίμωση της ελευθερίας του λόγου πραγματοποιείται συντονισμένα σε ανώτατο επίπεδο του αμερικανικού κράτους και ιδιωτικών εταιρειών, το κόμμα των Δημοκρατικών φαίνεται ότι έχει και τους δικούς του λόγους για να πρωτοστατεί στο κυνήγι μαγισσών. Όπως αποκάλυψε αυτή την εβδομάδα η πρώην προσωρινή πρόεδρος του κόμματος, Ντόνα Μπράζιλ, η Κλίντον είχε πραγματοποιήσει εσωτερικό «πραξικόπημα» προκειμένου να αποκλείσει τον Μπέρνι Σάντερς από την κούρσα για το χρίσμα των Δημοκρατικών. Σε μυστική συμφωνία με την Εθνική Επιτροπή του κόμματος, ανέλαβε τον απόλυτο έλεγχο των οικονομικών της προεκλογικής εκστρατείας σχεδόν 15 μήνες πριν οριστεί και επισήμως υποψήφια για την προεδρία. Σχετικές πληροφορίες είχαν έρθει στο φως, όταν χάκερ έδωσαν στη δημοσιότητα τμήματα από την εσωτερική, ηλεκτρονική αλληλογραφία του γραφείου της. Το Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα, όμως, αδιαφόρησε για τις καταγγελίες, προκειμένου να δώσει το χρίσμα στην Κλίντον και …να ηττηθεί πανηγυρικά από τον Ντόναλντ Τραμπ.

Η αντιπαράθεση Τραμπ-Κλίντον βρίσκεται στον πυρήνα του νέου μακαρθισμού, καθώς οι δυο πολιτικοί αντιπροσωπεύουν διαφορετικές προσεγγίσεις στην προσπάθεια ελέγχου των κοινωνικών αντιδράσεων. Ο Τραμπ κατάφερε να εκμεταλλευτεί την ταξική οργή της κοινωνίας, διαστρεβλώνοντας το περιεχόμενό της για να αναρριχηθεί στην εξουσία. Αντίθετα, η Χίλαρι Κλίντον πίστεψε ότι θα μπορούσε να την κρύψει κάτω από το χαλί, προωθώντας την πολιτική της ταυτότητας και τον «δικαιωματικό» λόγο. Η νέα γραμμή του αμερικανικού κατεστημένου φαίνεται να βρίσκεται πιο κοντά στην πολιτική της Κλίντον, καθώς επιχειρεί να εξαφανίσει από τη δημόσια σφαίρα κάθε πληροφορία για την πραγματική κατάσταση των λαϊκών στρωμάτων στις ΗΠΑ.

Όπως είδαμε τις τελευταίες ημέρες, αν η κριτική στο ίντερνετ αφορά τις σεξουαλικές παρεκτροπές αστέρων και παραγωγών του Χόλυγουντ (θέμα ιδιαίτερα σοβαρό για τη βιομηχανία του θεάματος αλλά ακίνδυνο για την κυρίαρχη τάξη των ΗΠΑ), η πληροφορία θα μπορεί να διακινείται ελεύθερα. Όταν όμως η κριτική αποκτά πολιτικά και κυρίως ταξικά χαρακτηριστικά, θα διώκεται ανηλεώς.

Another astroturfing operation against Bernie Sanders fails miserably

We are about to lose count of the number and different types of smear campaigns and dirty tricks that the DNC establishment has tried against Bernie Sanders so far. 
As the DNC "barons" and their super-wealthy donors understand now that Sanders' big power lies within a continuously growing, progressive movement behind him, they are trying to deal with it through the practice of astroturfing. In short, they are trying to undermine Bernie's authentic, grassroots movement, with a virtual one.

We witnessed another operation of this type during the latest Democratic debate, right before the next primaries battle in South Carolina. The operation involved an audience of supposedly authentic, ordinary voters, who, quite strangely enough, booed Sanders and cheered the billionaire Bloomberg!

Yet, one more time, progressive independent media (along with Sanders), exposed the new trick immediately.

Bernie Sanders' latest defeat in another round of the Democratic presidential primaries was received by most of the liberal corporate media almost as his political ending. Just take a quick look at the headlines. You will immediately recognize a bizarre anxiety by most of them to portray Joe Biden as the ultimate winner in the mother of all battles.
One more time, the liberal apparatus has been exposed, giving one more evidence that the liberal elites are considering Sanders as a biggest threat than even Donald Trump. Declassified has discovered that the addresses given by Lord Arbuthnot and other parliamentarians for Tertulias and Tatlidil have been the same — despite no obvious connection between the two organisations other than the UK Foreign Office. All the addresses are residential with no clear reason why they would be official addresses of high-level Foreign Office-linked fora.
In 2012, Arbuthnot recorded in his parliamentary register of interests that the address of both organisations was a Grade II listed house in the village of Cowlinge, Suffolk, which has a population of just over 600 people.
