Νίξον ανομήματα μη μόναν όψιν

Η μακιαβελική απομάκρυνση του επικεφαλής του FBI από τον Ντόναλντ Τραμπ ώθησε τον αμερικανικό Τύπο να τον συγκρίνει με τον πρόεδρο Νίξον. Σωστή παρατήρηση, η οποία έγινε όμως για λάθος λόγους.

Την περασμένη εβδομάδα το ίδρυμα που διαχειρίζεται τη βιβλιοθήκη και το μουσείο του Ρίτσαρντ Νίξον πόσταρε το παρακάτω μήνυμα στο twitter: «Η αστεία είδηση της ημέρας: Ο πρόεδρος Νίξον δεν απέλυσε ποτέ τον διευθυντή του FBI #FBIDirector #notNixonian». Ηταν όμως αργά. Η λέξη Nixonian (νιξονικός) αντηχούσε πλέον στους διαδρόμους της Ουάσινγκτον.

Δεκάδες αναλυτές υπενθύμιζαν ότι η απόφαση του Τραμπ να απομακρύνει τον διευθυντή του FBI, Τζέιμς Κόμεϊ, ο οποίος υποτίθεται θα ερευνούσε τις διασυνδέσεις του προέδρου με τη Ρωσία, θύμιζε το ξήλωμα κυβερνητικών στελεχών και ανεξάρτητων εμπειρογνωμόνων που είχε πραγματοποιήσει ο Νίξον σε μια ύστατη προσπάθεια να κουκουλώσει το σκάνδαλο Γουότεργκεϊτ.

Για τον φιλελεύθερο Τύπο των ΗΠΑ η σύγκριση αποτέλεσε μια υπενθύμιση (και πιθανότατα έναν ευσεβή πόθο) ότι ακόμη και οι πιο αδίστακτοι Αμερικανοί πρόεδροι μπορεί κάποια στιγμή να δουν την πόρτα της ταπεινωτικής εξόδου από τον Λευκό Οίκο.

Αίφνης δεκάδες δημοσιογράφοι άρχισαν να παρουσιάζουν μακροσκελείς λίστες με ομοιότητες των δύο προέδρων: από την επιθετική στάση τους απέναντι στους δημοσιογράφους μέχρι τα προγράμματα παρακολούθησης πολιτών και τη γιγάντωση των πολεμικών δαπανών σε βάρος του κράτους πρόνοιας.

Οι γηραιότεροι συντάκτες που καλύπτουν θέματα Λευκού Οίκου πρέπει να ένιωσαν και ένα τρομακτικό deja vu όταν είδαν, πριν από μερικές ημέρες, τον υπουργό Εξωτερικών του Νίξον, Χένρι Κίσινγκερ, να μπαίνει στον Λευκό Οίκο και να φωτογραφίζεται με τον Τραμπ. Οπως ανακοινώθηκε στη συνάντηση, η οποία δεν είχε κοινοποιηθεί στον Τύπο, οι δύο άντρες συζήτησαν τις σχέσεις της Ουάσινγκτον με τη Μόσχα.

Είναι γεγονός ότι ο Νίξον θα είχε πολλά να διδάξει στον επίγονό του. Και αυτός αμφισβήτησε ισχυρά κέντρα εξουσίας στο εσωτερικό του πολιτικού και στρατιωτικού κατεστημένου επιδιώκοντας τη σύσφιγξη των σχέσεων με την κομμουνιστική Κίνα.

Η λεγόμενη διπλωματία του πινγκ πονγκ (η αποστολή παικτών της αμερικανικής ομάδας επιτραπέζιας αντισφαίρισης στο Πεκίνο, με την οποία άνοιξε ο δρόμος για την επίσκεψη Νίξον και την επανέναρξη των διπλωματικών σχέσεων) απέδωσε καρπούς αφού περιόρισε αισθητά την επιρροή της πρώην ΕΣΣΔ στην ευρύτερη περιοχή.

Αντίθετα ο Τραμπ, ο οποίος αναζήτησε νέες συμμαχίες ή τουλάχιστον ένα μορατόριουμ στη διπλωματική σύγκρουση με τη Μόσχα του Πούτιν, απέτυχε παταγωδώς να μεταπείσει τα γεράκια του Πενταγώνου και του Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ.

Οι πραγματικές ομοιότητες όμως, για τις οποίες ο αμερικανικός Τύπος δεν θέλει να μιλήσει, δεν σχετίζονται ούτε με την προσωπικότητα των δύο προέδρων ούτε με τα λιγότερο ή περισσότερο επιτυχημένα μακιαβελικά σχέδια που εφαρμόζουν.

Ο Ρίτσαρντ Νίξον, όπως και ο Ντόναλντ Τραμπ ήρθαν στην εξουσία σε περιόδους βαθιάς, δομικής κρίσης του καπιταλιστικού συστήματος αλλά και της αμερικανικής ηγεμονίας. Ηταν η στιγμή που σημαντικά τμήματα της αμερικανικής ελίτ αποφάσιζαν να βγάλουν τα γάντια της διπλωματίας και να παίξουν έναν ανήθικο αγώνα μποξ με ολόκληρο τον πλανήτη.

Το οικονομικό σύστημα της Δύσης είχε καταναλώσει τα καύσιμα που του χάρισαν την τρομακτική μεταπολεμική ανάπτυξη και η οικονομική αρχιτεκτονική που είχαν επιβάλει οι νικητές του πολέμου με τις συμφωνίες του Μπρέτον Γουντς κατέρρεε σαν πύργος από τραπουλόχαρτα.

Παράλληλα, δύο νέα οικονομικά κέντρα, της Ευρώπης και της Ιαπωνίας –οι περιοχές δηλαδή που ενισχύθηκαν από τις ίδιες τις ΗΠΑ στα χρόνια του Ψυχρού Πολέμου για να αποτελέσουν ανάχωμα στην επιρροή της ΕΣΣΔ– επιχειρούσαν να ενισχύσουν τον ρόλο τους στην παγκόσμια οικονομία.

Οι τάσεις αποσάθρωσης της αμερικανικής ισχύος αποτυπώνονταν σε γεωπολιτικό επίπεδο με το αδιέξοδο και την επερχόμενη ήττα στον πόλεμο του Βιετνάμ, σε πολιτικό επίπεδο με το σκάνδαλο του Γουότεργκεϊτ και σε οικονομικό με τη χρηματιστηριακή κρίση του 1971 – τη χρονιά που ο βασιλιάς δολάριο αποδείχθηκε γυμνός.

Οι ΗΠΑ δεν είχαν αρκετό χρυσό για να καλύψουν τις δανειακές υποχρεώσεις τους (όπως προέβλεπε το μοντέλο του Μπρέτον Γουντς) και οι κερδοσκόποι που οσφράνθηκαν την αδυναμία έπεσαν να κατασπαράξουν το αμερικανικό νόμισμα.

Η Ουάσινγκτον όμως δεν είχε πει την τελευταία της λέξη. Ο πρόεδρος Νίξον κλείστηκε στο Καμπ Ντέιβιντ μαζί με τους οικονομικούς «στρατηγούς» του –τον υπουργό Οικονομικών και τον διοικητή της κεντρικής τράπεζας– και οργάνωσαν τη μεγάλη αντεπίθεση.

Διακόπτοντας τη μετατρεψιμότητα του χρυσού σε δολάρια ο Νίξον τίναξε στον αέρα την αρχιτεκτονική του Μπρέτον Γουντς, ενώ παράλληλα κήρυξε διμέτωπο πόλεμο απέναντι στη Γερμανία και την Ιαπωνία υψώνοντας προστατευτικά τείχη για την αμερικανική οικονομία.

Υπό μια έννοια, εξηγούσε πρόσφατα ο Αμερικανός οικονομολόγος Τζακ Ράσμους, ο Νίξον προκάλεσε συνειδητά υποτίμηση του δολαρίου, ενώ ο Τραμπ καλεί τους ανταγωνιστές, όπως η Κίνα, να ανατιμήσουν το δικό τους νόμισμα. Τα εργαλεία είναι διαφορετικά, ο στόχος όμως ο ίδιος.

Ενώ όμως η οικονομική επέμβαση του Νίξον πέτυχε, ο πολιτικός ασθενής απεβίωσε. Ο Νίξον δεν κατάφερε να επιβιώσει των εσωτερικών συγκρούσεων του αμερικανικού κατεστημένου – αποτέλεσμα και αυτές των οικονομικών συγκρούσεων και αδιεξόδων του παγκόσμιου οικονομικού συστήματος. Μένει να αποδειχθεί εάν ο Τραμπ θα ακολουθήσει την ίδια πορεία.

On mid-July we wrote that an increased number of people who run independent YouTube channels reported that are being demonetized. Also, they see the number of viewings and subscribers being reduced significantly.

We observed that while the blog subscribed to various independent YouTube channels, when we go to the first page and search specific terms like "Syria", "Venezuela", "Bernie Sanders", "Tulsi Gabbard", etc., the first results give numerous videos from Western mainstream media like MSNBC, FOX News, CNN, BBC, etc. We can hardly find a video from our subscriptions, way below those results.
